Tuesday Sector Laggards: Utilities, Financial

In afternoon trading on Tuesday, Utilities stocks are the worst performing sector, higher by 0.4%. Within that group, AES Corp. (NYSE: AES) and Entergy Corp. (NYSE: ETR) are two of the day's laggards, showing a loss of 1.4% and 1.0%, respectively. Among utilities ETFs, one ETF following the sector is the Utilities Select Sector SPDR ETF (AMEX: XLU), which is up 0.3% on the day, and down 7.33% year-to-date. AES Corp., meanwhile, is down 5.92% year-to-date, and Entergy Corp., is down 18.43% year-to-date. Combined, AES and ETR make up approximately 4.1% of the underlying holdings of XLU.
